Sony and the World Photography Organisation (WPO) have announced details of the 2010 Sony World Photography wards and World Photography Festival.

The event, taking place between 22-27th April in Cannes, welcomes professional and amateur photographers, photography students and the general public to ‘a five day celebration of the craft of photography’.

Over the course of the week there will be a serious of workshops with the team from iStockphoto, talks by professional photographers such as Idris Khan and Jonathan Torgovnik and a seminar from Panos Pictures Agency.

The highlight of the week is the prestigious Sony World Photography Awards 2010 prize ceremony, where the overall winner of the 2010 L’Iris D’Or Photographer of the Year award.
