Feature-packed range announced

Sony utilised the stage of this year’s Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas to unveil three new additions to its Cyber-shot range.

The headline addition to the new range of Cyber-shot’s is the new HX5. The model sports Sony’s Exmor CMOS Sensor and Sony’s own G lens technology with 25mm wide angle and 10x optical zoom. Furthermore, the HX5 also sports a AVCHD 1080i Full HD video mode, while also offering both a GPS and Compass function built-in. The HX5 also sports an improved Intelligent Sweep Panorama mode which not only allows capture of a panorama in a single sweep, but also detects moving object and stitches around them for a seamless image.

Another of Sony’s additions is the new TX7. Aligned with previous T models from Sony, the TX7 boasts both slim-line design and a full specification. The model offers an Exmor R CMOS Sensor and AVCHD 1080i Full HD movie capture.

The final Cyber-shot announced at CES is the W380. Pitched more at the affordable end of the market, the W380 offers is available in a range of colours, though still offers a full specification including 14.1MP CCD sensor, f/2.4 Sony G lens and Sweep Panorama shooting mode.

The three new Cyber-shot models are due towards the end of the month, with prices yet to be confirmed.
