Pentax has announced the addition of two new models to two of its compact ranges.

Both models ? the E40 and M40 ? feature an eight-megapixel sensor, as well as a digital shake-reduction mode and Face detection technology, the latter adjusting for both the focusing and exposure of portrait shots.

The E40 adds to the budget E range and will feature the same ease of use as its predecessors ? with its Green mode providing automated exposure, sensitivity and white balance ? but will incorporate the new technology that will strengthen its position within the budget market.

Meanwhile, the M40 model boasts a slim 18mm body and maximum ISO sensitivity of 3200, which combine with its eight-megapixel sensor and Auto picture mode to provide functionality and style.

Release dates and RRPs are yet to be launched. For more information visit www.pentax.co.uk.
