Successor to award-winning FZ5 boasts enhanced features.
The Lumix DMC-FZ7 features an increased 6MP resolution, while retaining the 12x optical 36-432mm zoom (35mm equivalent) Leica lens found on the FZ5.
Panasonic has addressed a criticism of the FZ5, with the inclusion of manual focus, adjustable using the new joystick. High Sensitivity mode enables a maximum sensitivity of ISO1600, while the new battery captures 320 pictures per charge. The LCD has increased from 1.8in to 2.5in, the High Angle Function enabling visibility from low angles.
Panasonic?s MEGA O.I.S (Optical Image Stabilizer) reduces the effect of camera shake, enabling the use of shutter speeds three stops slower than conventional cameras.
The camera includes Panasonic?s Venus Engine II processor, enabling a 0.008sec shutter lag and 0.5sec shutter interval. Users can shoot until the memory card is full with Unlimited Consecutive Shooting, while consecutive shooting allows three frames per second at maximum resolution.
