Nikon’s Learn and Explore application has been launched for iPhone. The teaching tool offers a variety of methods to discover the finer points of photography. A number of professional photographers offer tips and hints on how to shoot landscapes, portraits and master the camera’s settings.

The iPhone app allows beginners to progress from discovering how the likes of white balance work to taking creative images under various lighting types. Either an image can be picked out from a list and the techniques explained or the technique chosen from a list. Articles can then be shared over various social networking sites. 

The download is available for free from the Apple App Store.
