Sigma has announced a new addition to its macro range in the shape of the MACRO 70mm F2.8 EX DG lens.

Sigma has announced a new addition to its macro range in the shape of the MACRO 70mm F2.8 EX DG lens. Suitable for both digital and 35mm SLR cameras, the lens gives a field of view equivalent to the popular 105mm focal length when used on digital SLR cameras with an APS-C size image sensor.
The new optic, which will be priced at £339, features a Special Low Dispersion (SLD) lens and two high refractive index SLD lenses for correction of aberrations and what Sigma claim to be an exceptional level of optical performance.
An internal floating focus system provides focusing from infinity to 1:1 Macro, while the lens’ physical length remains unchanged. A ?Focus Limiter Switch? in incorporated on the lens, improving the speed and accuracy of auto focus by limiting the focus range. A screw-in lens hood is included for convenient use of circular polarizing filters.
