Following the recent release of the EX-S600, Casio is extending its EXILIM range with the Z600, a 6MP slimline compact with a 3x optical zoom.
Casio has enhanced the 2.7in LCD since its predecessor (the EX-Z500) to improve visibility, particularly in sunny conditions. The screen is three times brighter and automatically adjusts the brightness to suit the situation.
A new feature is the Rapid Flash function, which captures a sequence of three photographs per second and, to reduce the effect of camera shake, the EX-Z600 includes Anti Shake Digital Signal Processor (DSP). Auto Macro automatically swaps between macro and auto focus mode, depending on the distance between the subject and the lens, while Quick Shutter enables quick and easy focusing.
Power is supplied using Casio?s SUPER LIFE Battery, which can capture 550 photos from a single charge (to CIPA standards). Accessible through the BEST SHOT button, the camera includes 32 scene modes optimised for different shooting conditions, including Revive Shot, which is designed to restore colour when photographing other pictures.
Casio claims fast performance, including 0.9sec from power on to first shot and 0.005sec shutter lag. Other features include: angle correction, flash assist, soft flash and 640×480 VGA movies at a rate of 30fps.
Available in silver, black and blue, the EX-Z600 is available in March, although Casio has yet to announce a price. Find it more at www.exilim.co.uk or call 0208 208 7801.
