Title: With Landscape in Mind: a photographic road trip with Joe Cornish

Author: Joe Cornish

Production:Environment Films

Edition/format: DVD

This is the first DVD from Joe Cornish, one of the UK’s best-loved landscape photographers. It isn’t a technique guide. You won’t find him telling you what lens to fit or what exposure to use. Instead Joe has chosen to produce something more interesting: fly on the wall documentary, which follows him around for a week as he photographs several locations in the north of England.

It’s a slow-paced and reflective film packed with lingering shots of the lovely locations he visits, accompanied by Joe’s contemplative narration. It feels like you’ve gone along with Joe for the ride, and are looking over his shoulder while he works.

Joe encounters some typical autumnal weather during the week and it’s particularly interesting to see how this informs his choice of subject and composition. Environment Films has produced a thought-provoking and visually pleasing film that landscape enthusiasts will enjoy.
