After complaints from photographers of dust and oil appearing on the surface of D600 sensors, Nikon belatedly acknowledged there were traces on some cameras and advised anyone with such problems to consult their nearest Nikon service centre. The direct replacement to the D600 – the D610 – features a new shutter mechanism to rectify the D600’s issue.
