Canon launches 200-400mm with built-in 1.4x extender

Canon added the EF 200-400mm f/4 IS USM lens to its line-up in May, however it differs from most lenses with a built-in 1.4x teleconverter. By flicking a lever at the rear of the barrel the lens can be converted to a 280-560mm f/5.6 lens. Who knows, this might suggest Canon is looking to develop this into other telephoto zooms in the future.
