Buy back promised for even more old kit

HP is doing its bit for the environment by expanding its Planet Partners Recycling program.

This service will now offer a buyback option which will see HP buy back any brand of PC,
monitor, printe or indeed digital camera which it deems still has some value. HP will them recycle the product and hopes to double last year’s recycling total of close to one billion pounds of computer
waste.

All consumers have to do, according to Coolest Gadgets and CNET, is go to the HP Quote website and then select the specs of the gadgets that they want to get rid of from the pull
down menus.

Next – tell HP the quantity and the gadget’s condition and receive a free
quote. Coolest Gadgets adds that if the specs for your item are not available, there is an ‘other’ option and then, it explains, ‘a form will popup asking for details on
processor, hard drive, video card, RAM, etc.’

The only caveat is that HP will not pay the cost of shipping the gadget for you.

HP is also offering the option of using the cash from your old product towards the price of getting a new HP one.

And if your gadget is too old or broken to have any value – HP will recycle it for you anyways as long as its an HP product.
