Sony’s NEX-5 and NEX-3 are now able to perform the sweep panorama feature in 3D, with the results viewable on a compatible 3D TV. The feature works in the same manner as the 2D version, letting the user move in a single motion and capturing the scene using the camera’s burst mode.
The firmware also updates the 2D sweep panorama, power consumption and start-up times. Whether 3D photography will capture the interest of the average consumer may stem from features such as 3D sweep panorama, so we’ll be interested to see how it works when used.
