Panasonic Lumix SZ9

Panasonic has also announced the SZ9 – a superzoom compact that sports an impressive set of features for a small and slimline pocket camera. Built around a 16.1MP MOS sensor, the SZ9 adopts Panasonic’s Venus engine processor and is fitted with a 10x optical zoom LEICA DC lens which offers a focal length that’s equivalent to 25-250mm.

Capable of shooting up to ISO 3200, the SZ9 features instant Wi-Fi transfer functionality much like the TZ40 and FT5. A dedicated button on the camera body is designed to make it quick and easy to connect to the camera to a smartphone or tablet. It’s no slouch when it comes to the speed at which it shoots either. The high-speed digital signal output technology allows the SZ9 to shoot at 10fps at full resolution, however this frame rate is set to drop to 5fps when continuous AF is selected.

As well as its Wi-Fi connectivity, the SZ9 allows users to tag images quickly with GPS location data. It’s also equipped with 14 creative effects such as soft focus, toy effect and retro. At the rear it features a 3in LCD screen and full HD movie capture is available at 1920×1080.

Availability of the Panasonic Lumix SZ9 is still to be confirmed.
