Canon EOS 500D Review (EOS Rebel T1i)
Verdict
Though initially the Canon 500D may seem like only a slight progression in the range, it offers far more than is expected. Everything about this model feels more refined, and the overall handling and performance is close to flawless. There are still areas to gripe about though: an AF function in movie mode that makes sound unusable, a lack of audio input for an external mic, the 20fps rate at full HD, limited continuous shooting in Raw mode, and an AF system now outclassed by cheaper models; but overall this is a very impressive camera capable of taking stunning images. If you're looking for a compact-sized DSLR with plenty of features, you wont be disappointed by the EOS 500D. It's a truely deserving winner of our Gold Award.

There isn't a simple nweasr. The G10 has higher resolution, so capable of resolving slightly more detail in good light. But the G11 has a lower pixel density, which means lower noise and better quality in lower light. On the whole I think this is more useful more often than a marginal resolution increase which is only relevant at high magnification, so I'd pick the G11.

Actually the basics of datigil photography is in most ways the same as the basics of photography in generalIt is all about learning to get perfect exposures and composition so you don't have to use a darkroom or photo program to correct your mistakes made when you first exposed your film or sensor. My suggestion is to take a class or two in photography at one of your local community colleges. The skills you learn there will make using your datigil camera all the easier to use when attempting to produce images that reflect your point of view.Editorial, sports and glamour photographer
