Great camera, simple and easy to use but with lots of more advanced features hidden away if you need them. Great for A4 photos and with care up to A3. Lens is pin-sharp from centre to the edges, good colour as well. I highly recommend this camera, mine only cost £130, which is a bargain for a 10 megapixel camera.

A superb camera, well at the start you will find it so hard to deal with this gadget. So hard to capture moving objects, indoor images and using artificial lightings. But, if you are just going to use the default setting of the camera. Of course I want to get what my money worth so I study a bit of photography by myself. A correct mixture of shutter speed, ISO, flash(if only needed), apperture and manual focusing. They might say that the image quality is a little bad, but I tell you it was not! Maybe because they just based it under default setting. Want to have a DSLR-quality images using Ricoh R8? Then use R8 as a DSLR, don't expect so much with auto, well DSLR users dont use their cameras in auto mode... Go manual and you will see that there's no difference between a DSLR's image quality vs the Ricoh R8. Ricoh R8 is at its best when you use it outdoor, but of course with a perfect daylight. Indoor images where its weakness, I suggest that you use flash, 1/8 minimum shutterspeed, ISO100(standard) and it won't be bad. ricohr8_dbest!

Good camera but have had to have repaired twice. Wouldn't buy another one.
