We’ve looked at several Wacom tablets over the years, and the Graphire 4 Studio XL is one of the best bundles we’ve seen yet. The tablet has been completely redesigned with a smart silver metallic finish and a conveniently placed pen holder.

Even more importantly, a pair of fast access buttons have been added which can be programmed to perform frequent tasks such as switching tools. There is also a scroll wheel to allow on-screen scrolling or zooming.

The pen has been redesigned too with a pair of buttons that replicate right and double-click commands. It is also a much more comfortable pen for holding than some previous versions. A ‘rubber’ at the top end of the pen can be used as an eraser to correct onscreen mistakes.

The Studio version contains added software than the standard version including Adobe Photoshop Elements 3.0 and Nik Color Efex Pro 2.0.

Verdict:
Overall, the Graphire 4 continues the trend set by previous tablets,
high quality, easy to use and a more natural way of working with images
than a mouse

Pros:
Ease of use and impressive quality

Cons:
None
