One of the benefits of an AA/AAA battery- powered device is the ability to access replacements if you should run out of juice on the go. No matter where you are in the world, you won’t be too far away from a shop selling replacements. This is all very well, but how about the day-to-day use of an AA/AAA powered device? The cost of replacement units can soon add up, when compared to an equivalent rechargeable Li-ion unit.

The answer is in rechargeable batteries. Not only are they compliant with similarly powered devices, but they also offer the benefits of Li-ion equivalents. The Duracell mini charger not only offers the ability to recharge compatible batteries, but also comes complete with two AA NiMH batteries.

The charger itself is slightly plasticky in build, featuring a clamshell lid that one imagines could quite easily break from the main body of the charger, though this wouldn’t present any issues with regards to usability.

Verdict

Available in electric pink, lime green and bold blue, the Duracell mini-charger is a great package if you're looking to move towards rechargeable AA batteries.
