Olympus has announced two new enthusiast compacts, the SP-350 and SP-310.
With resolutions of 8MP and 7MP respectively, both feature a 3x optical f/2.8-4.9 38-114mm lens. They also offer manual and automatic exposure controls – Shutter Priority, Aperture Priority, Manual and Program – alongside 24 scene modes. Meanwhile, focusing options comprise manual, spot and selectable AF with 143 points.
Images can be viewed on a 2.5in LCD screen and Olympus claims that the supplied CR-V3 battery pack enables shooting up to 510 shots from a single charge. Other features include a 2cm Super Macro mode, Histogram function, JPEG and RAW shooting, movie recording with sound and a TruePic TURBO processor.
The SP-350 and SP-310 are compatible with Olympus?s WCON-07F wide converter and TCON-17F teleconverter that adjust the focal length to 27mm and 193mm respectively, with an adaptor.
Hitting the shops in October, the SP-350 will cost £310 and the SP-310 is a Jessops exclusive that will cost £270.
