Leica V-Lux 30 16x optical zoom compact unveiled
A new compact from camera manufacturer Leica looks set to turn heads; the V-Lux 30 offers a 16x optical zoom, 14.1 MP sensor and a 3D mode. With all this, and more, inside quite a slight frame it should be a consideration for a holiday camera, especially as a HD movie mode is also present.
You’ll be forgiven for spotting a fair few similarities between the V-Lux 30 and Panasonic’s TZ20, as the specs and appearance are virtually identical. This isn’t the first occasion the two companies, who have close bonds thanks to Leica optics being present in a number of Panasonic products, have shared some very similar products. A number of V-Lux models are extremely close in physicality and functionality to Lumix models, albeit priced at a premium.
The V-Lux 30 is no different, costing £550. Other stand-out specs include a 3″ touch screen display, GPS photo tagging and full manual controls. For more information on the V-Lux 30 head to the Leica Website
