Fujifilm has announced the release of the 9MP FinePix S9600, a replacement for the FinePix S9500 and the new flagship in Fujifilm’s range of prosumer digital cameras.
The new model features modifications designed to improve image quality as well as better performance in low light. Refinements include increased image sharpness, a larger LCD screen, faster autofocus in low light and enhancements to the camera’s flash capability. An improved autofocus response time of up to 40 per cent quicker than its predecessor, maximum ISO 1600 and a 2inch LCD are also featured.
Designed for serious hobbyists and enthusiast photographers, the S9600 features Fujifilm’s Super CCD HR sensor, the Real Photo Processor II and 10x optical zoom.
The camera’s 10.7x (28-300mm 35mm equivalent) zoom lens incorporates aspherical elements to improve the precision of the path of light to minimise distortion and aberrations and is controlled by a manual zoom ring. An optional WL-FXS6 Wide Conversion Lens is also available to expand the camera’s wide-angle capability.
