Free online software brings Photoshop technology to the masses

Adobe today announced the launch of Photoshop Express public beta.

The free Rich Internet Application (RIA) is openly available, and offers many simple image-editing tools in common with its Adobe stablemates.

Photoshop Express offers basic image modifications such as removing blemishes and red-eye, converting to black and white, cropping and resizing.

Alongside these tools, Photoshop Express maintains a theme of one-click manipulation with tricks like Pop Colour, Sketch and Distort.

Photoshop Express also offers users the ability to store up to 2GB of images online for free, making sorting and sharing all the more easier.

Photoshop Express is currently only intended for US residents, and those accessing the software from outside of the US will experience ‘slow performance’, warns Adobe. However, there are plans to make Photoshop Express universally available.

As Photoshop Express is in the beta stage, Adobe are openly soliciting user feedback, so the check out the new software yourself and to even play a part in the development of the software, simply visit www.photoshop.com/express
