Next year’s Sony World Photography awards will introduce a number of new categories, including Nature and Wildlife and Enhanced. Alongside these additions to the existing Professional and Open sections is a new Youth competition for under 20 year olds and a Student Focus competition.

Due to a large amount of success in last year’s Moving Image Awards the categories have been expanded to six categories from five. This allows photographers to experiment even further with movie making in the ever-expanding world of HD video. 

Entry closes on the 4th of Jan 2012, with the winner announced in late April in London at a ceremony. Winners will receive $25,000 and a Sony digital SLR.
