Very clever camera design, precise engineering, and intriguing future possibilities. I'm a keen Ricoh user, but baulk somewhat at a compact that costs about the same as a Nikon D90. A dSLR and a digital compact are different 'tools' for different purposes of course, but the GXR will need to find very committed buyers at this price. Downscaling from Leica M9's maybe? The hugely cheaper Ricoh GX100 or GX200 will suffice for many needing/wanting a high quality compact.

What a refreshing change - pity about the price, though!
