Jessops’s own-brand flashgun is a digitally dedicated model with plenty of features at a reasonable price. The Guide Number of 30m @ ISO100 is acceptably powerful and the flash is available in Nikon, Canon and Pentax fittings.
It offers up to 90° tilt of the flash-head for bouncing the flash off walls and ceilings and a manually adjustable zoom head to match the output to the correct focal length on your lens. The Jessops model is TTL only, using the appropriate TTL flash system of compatible cameras, so is very easy to use: just switch the flash on and take the pictures. This may be somewhat limiting to more experimental photographers, but for those looking for a simple lighting solution, it’s all you need.
Image quality could be better with the diffuser casting wavy shadows over the subject and a horizontal central hot spot across the frame. The Iight is also a little cold giving skin tones a slightly greenish hue.
While it may have some good features, at the price and in comparison to others the Jessops unit performs poorly.
