Canadian optometrist Larry Louie wins 2010 prize

The Travel Photographer of the Year has been announced as Dr Larry Louie, an Optometrist from Canada, for his images of Mali and China. The black and white images were chosen “Aside from being beautiful, sumptuous images in their own right, Larry’s photographs linger, inviting you in to explore their intricate detail and fascinating textures” said Chris Coe, TPOTY founder.

Alongside the Travel Photographer of the Year title Larry also wins a host of prizes from the likes of Adobe, Lexar and Wacom as well as a £1,000 cash burary and a trip to Laos, Thailand and Vietnam. Other winners include Kat Waters as the Young Photographer of the Year and Eric Kruszewski triumphed in the New Talent category.
