Panasonic DMC-GF1 - the latest addition to burgeoning Micro Four Thirds range

Panasonic has today announced the latest addition to its growing Micro Four Thirds range, in the shape of the Panasonic Lumix GF1. The new GF1 model debuts with the claim of being the world’s smallest and lightest interchangeable lens camera with built-in flash, and features classic design and styling.

The GF1 features a 12.1MP Live MOS sensor, offering both live view and HD video capture at a resolution of 1280 x 720. The model also features a high-quality LCD screen, measuring in at 3in and boasting a 460k-dot resolution.

This high specification has no negative impact of the camera’s size however – the GF1 sees a 35% reduction in volume and 26% reduction in weight on the G1, the model that was previously the smallest in the G series.Panasonic DMC-GF1 top | News | What Digital Camera

The GF1 features a new ‘My Colour’ mode, offering a range of seven preset imaging effects – Expressive, Retro, Pure, Elegant, Monochrome, Dynamic Art and Silhouette. As the GF1 joins Panasonic’s ever-expanding Micro Four Thirds series, the model is compatible with a wide range of lenses and accessories.
