Travel Photographer of the Year has announced a Dalai Lama Photo Essay prize for overall winner of this year?s competition.

The winner will have the chance to spend up to two days photographing His Holiness the Dalai Lama in Dharamsala, a Tibetan settlement in Northern India.

The opportunity will form part of a visit to Dharamsala, the seat of the Tibetan Government in exile, and offers travel photographers the chance to shoot everything they could ever wish for, ranging from mountain and forest scenery to historical architecture and the Dalai Lama himself.

Alongside the fantastic trip, the winner will also scoop a prize package including an Apple MacBook with Aperture 1.5 and Adobe CS3 Web Premium software, a £2,500 TPOTY bursary and a Plastic Sandwich leather portfolio book.

There are also prize trips available for the three Portfolio and the One Shot categories, including trips to Tanzania, the Alps and China.
