The Leaf Aptus-II 10 digital camera back is a new 56 megapixel medium format camera back from Leaf. At 56mm wide – the largest sensor of any digital camera back – expect extraordinary professional image quality to be the order of the day, provided at the sort of blistering speed that the world’s top photographers demand.

All Leaf Aptus-II models are compatible with over 80 different medium and large format cameras and feature ‘film-like’ image quality with 12 stop dynamic range, extremely accurate color reproduction and spectacular detail. Sporting a 6x7cm touch-screen makes for hands-on use, whilst ultra fast image transfer speeds take advantage of the fastest CF cards and Firewire 800 is supported for tethered shooting. A new version of Leaf Capture (v11.2.6) comes in the box, or can be downloaded for free from the Leaf website.

The Leaf Aptus-II 10 is available for Mamiya, Contax and Hasselblad interfaces and large format view camera backs (via additional adaptors sold separately). It joins the 33 megapixel Leaf Aptus-II 7 and 28 megapixel Leaf Aptus-II 6 also available in the range.

There’s no official price provided as yet, suggesting that a visit to your local dealer will set you back a small fortune. But if you’re in the pro business and looking for the best kit for the job, then we’re sure a camera back with staggering specs such as this is a sure fire look-in.
