HP has announced a new high-speed scanner with a resolution of 9600 x 4800 dpi.
Described as a scanner ?for the photo enthusiast wanting to archive and restore all their pictures?, the Scanjet 4890 can scan slides, photos, documents, slides and negatives at 48-bit colour.
Featuring a hinged metal lid, enabling 3D objects to be scanned, the Scanjet 4890 promises easy scanning thanks to four buttons on the front. Incorporating a transparent materials adaptor, it can scan 30 negatives or 16x35mm slides simultaneously, at individual speeds of less than 10 seconds.
HP Real Life Technologies can remove dust and scratches from slides, improve faded and damaged photographs and rectify faded colour, while the supplied HP Image Zone and Image Share software for organising and sharing images.
