Aperture users are being offered a free update which addresses several reliability and performance issues found in version 1.5 of the post production software.

Update 1.5.2 is recommended for all users and promises to solves problems encountered with:

  • Contact sheet printing
  • Smart Albums
  • Watermarks
  • Lift and stamp
  • Image export
  • Versions created using an external editor

Apple also recommends that anyone who has not already done so download the Digital Camera RAW Support Update 1.0.1, which is available on the Apple Downloads support page at http://www.apple.com/support/downloads.

The Digital Camera RAW Support Update provides RAW file format compatibility for the Canon 400D, Nikon D80 and Pentax *ist DS cameras. It also addresses the handling of large Canon RAW files (.CRW), DNG compatibility on Intel-based Mac computers and the occasional appearance of lines in images exported from Aperture.
