Samsung EX1 replacement model confirmed

What Digital Camera quizzed Samsung's Vice President of Digital Imaging, Mr Sunhong Lim, on the future of Samsung's compact camera business.

With the increase in Smartphone camera capabilities it's likely the coming years will see a fall in lower-end compact sales, leading to a rise in high-spec, specialist cameras.

When asked if the Samsung EX1 would see a replacement model this year, Mr Lim confirmed there were plans to announce an upgrade in the future. There were no details that could be divulged about the model, but any nod that exciting tech is on the way is good enough for us.
