Budding photographers can be in with chance to win a trip to California with Canon’s ‘I SPY with my Digital Eye’ competition. Taking place in Canon Digital Centre stores throughout the UK, the competition is based around the game I Spy; each store will pick a letter of the alphabet and entrants have to submit photos starting with the letter. Open to amateurs, the competition has three categories: 16-18 year-olds; over 18 year-olds; and photographers in colleges and camera clubs. Winners will get a chance to ride in a Virgin hot air balloon and the overall winner from each store goes forward to the National competition, with the chance to win a trip to Napa Valley in California to ride over the vineyards in a hot-air balloon. The competition closes on January 14th and entry forms are available from Canon Digital Centre stores. Each form contains a detachable label, which needs to be attached to the back of the photo. Alternatively store staff can also print entries from memory cards. Canon is also holding a National Demonstration Day in its Digital Centre Stores, taking place on December 10th. Visitors will have a chance to get advice from an expert and each purchase of a digital camera comes with a free 256Mb memory card. Find out more at www.canon.co.uk or by calling 08705 143723.
