A statement appearing on the Nikon USA and Adobe website states: ‘For the future Nikon intends to co-operate with Adobe and other industry members in order to pursue its objective of providing images with better quality, convenience and usefulness to end-users.’ Earlier this year the RAW images taken by the Nikon D2X featured encrypted white balance data, which meant that it could be read only by Nikon Capture software and not by third-party converters, such as Adobe Camera Raw 3.1, so you couldn't adjust the white balance. There has been no indication yet of what the outcome will be. Read the full announcement at www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/nikonraw.html or www.prnewswire.com/micro/NIKON
