The Epson V100 scanner offers 3200 x 9600 DPI scanning of film and photos.
| Pros: | Film scan speed, Affordable |
|---|---|
| Cons: | Comparatively fiddly film loading |
Budget Scanner
A low cost scanner, the Epson V100 is much the same as the Epson V350 minus the motorised film strip feeder for film scanning. This makes handling film strips a bit trickier when loading them into the film holders. Without a motorised film holder, the lid is lighter and lower in profile. However, scan quality is much the same.
Performance
As with the V350, everything is logical to operate, and speed is impressive for film scans. If you’re primarily scanning film strips, the V350 makes life a lot easier, but if you want to scan four mounted slides at a time instead of two, the V100 is better value.
Scan Quality
Though not super sharp, the film scans have a good natural film-like look. The lamp warm-up waits are longer than average, though.
