I came to this camerra from the D90.. The K-7 is barely more expensive (in australia) and a MUCH MUCH better camera.. I have owned most of Pentax's DSLRs in the past and this is by far the best, and really doesn't lag behind canon/nikon at all, much the opposite..

New to Pentax, coming from Nikon and Canon. Many positives on the K7 that exceed the similarly priced big players(Canon T1i and Nikon D5000). The magazine rating here also underreppresents the camera's capabilities. Frankly, it appears to automatically be placed beneath the big players without serious consideration, rather an inherent bias. Cons: the camera does tend to underexpose(offset by EV +).

The K-7 isn't even nearly the same price as a D5000, which invalidates that comment (above) entirely. In the UK the K-7 with 18-55mm WR lens is £1000. The D5000 with 18-105mm is £700. The figures speak for themselves.

where did you get the 60% user rating thats on the comparison tables (up against the canon D7 and Nikon d300)? These 4 comments don't seem to add up to 60% which is pretty low.
