Review of the 250GB portable storage device: Memorex Essential Traveldrive
| Pros: | Simple, lightweight |
|---|---|
| Cons: | No standout features, no case included, a little flimsy |
Available in a choice of six colours, Memorex's Traveldrive is designed as a portable backup solution that makes a colourful impression among its peers. The drive promises 480MB/sec transfer speeds and is available in capacities up to 320GB.
The unit comes bundled with both a USB/power cable and ArcSoft's TotalMedia backup software, the latter of which is compliant with both Mac and PC systems. There's no case included with the drive, and while its plastic body is a little flimsy if subjected to a little pressure, this does help to keep it relatively lightweight. It's also reasonably neat in design, with a single USB port and a blue LED light indicating the drive's status.
