Elliot, I have an FZ150 and also a Canon 550D. The Fz is an excellent camera but cannot compare to a 550D in terms of image. The same would likely go for the 1100D. Horses for courses!!! Don't forget cost as well.

if you have one in your hands for a few days, you will be pleasantly satisfied. and if you're old enough to remember that for many many years, ISO400 was the fastest to hope for with film, and all the great images of history were done at this, or slower film speeds, you will be totally content with this camera. I sold my Nikon D80 with 18-200 lens soon after getting this camera. If you can't take excellent pictures with this camera, then it's the photographer's fault, not the cameras'.

greetings...every review has been read concerning this camera including comparisons of the closest competitors.using the addage"the cream allways goes to the top" in all reviews this panasonic bests them consistently.

I love my Fz-18 and I am looking forward to using the FZ 150 when B&H gets it here. I agree with buster.
