Sanyo Xacti VPC-CG9 Review

For a bit of fun, and if you’re looking for something to capture a little action on both a video and camera, the 9MP Sanyo Xacti DMX-CG9 might be just what you’re after. The CG9 is user-friendly, and it’s comfortable to handle due to a curvaceous body. The menu is easy to follow, and the buttons are big enough to use despite the camcorder’s small size.

Because of its small dimensions, the CG9 fits comfortably into most pockets and manages to squeeze in a relatively large 2.5in LCD. However, the CG9 is let down in the image quality department. At lower ISO settings the images are susceptible to luminance noise. Fringing can also be a problem, but the metering is generally competent. So while you may not get the finest noise-free images the world has seen, the CG9 produces reasonable results. But most of all, it’s rather fun!

Verdict

Great in the fun stakes, though not the best if top-quality images are what you’re after.
