Review: 100 Ways to take better portrait photographs is the latest in the ‘100 Ways to take better…’ series, previously covering Landscape Photographs and Black & White Photographs. Broken into 11 sections, 100 Ways… covers the full gamut of portrait styles and techniques – from equipment needed, composition and controlling the picture, through to indoor and studio portraits.

As is often the way with ‘lists’ or titles based on lists, 100 Ways… covers an awful lot without ever getting too involved with the intricacies and the how’s and why’s of the techniques. However, this approach is perfectly suited to anyone looking to pick up a book and browse through a host of valuable tips from informed authors, accompanied by an informative illustrative portrait and caption for each shot. For this reason it is well worth looking at, if you’re interested in portrait photography.
