Available in numerous purpose-built formats, Camera Armor is there to protect your camera from drops, knocks and falls.

However, it’s not desperately attractive, can make some buttons hard to reach, and the fickle among us may frown that your camera brand name will be covered. Don’t expect it to be an exception to water-proofing though. While there is a front lens cap that will likely defend knocks to the front ring, the rest of the lens barrel is exposed to continue to provide use, though a frontward drop could still shatter lens glass. Also, the lens cover won’t necessarily fit non-kit lenses. The LCD cover provided is highly reflective plastic and ought to have been made from an improved material – this is probably the biggest gripe.

If you’re the sort of photographer who’s going to be shooting at the Spanish running of the bull this could be the kit for you. For more day to day users however, it’s probably not necessary.
