Sony’s T300 sports a 3.5in, 230k pixel touch-screen LCD, on which the images captured by the 10.1MP, 1/2.3in, Super CCD sensor are displayed. As a result of the touch-screen technology, the sum of control buttons is power, review, zoom and shutter buttons, housed on the top panel. However, due to the ‘minimal’ button layout, the operational buttons sit upon the margins of the LCD, meaning 3.5in is more like 3in for composition and review.

In use, the T300 benefits from several intelligent innovations, such as smile shutter release and specific focus-point selection via the touch-screen LCD. With regards to image quality, tones are well rendered throughout the frame and fringing is kept to a minimum. However, softness prevails through the frame, failing off particularly in the corners, and is often coupled with noise.
