‘Party Compact

Part of the Easyshare range of Kodak compacts, the V1253, available in either black or white, is slick, trendy and would certainly suit the partygoer.

Features

With a 12MP sensor, and 3.1in LCD screen, the V1253 features both face detection and image stabilisation, and despite the controls being a little fiddly, and the joystick on the rear of the camera a bit tricky to use, all the main features are there and the options are easy to navigate. The feel of the camera is quite sturdy despite it initially looking like it might break easily. Made of metal and plastic, it’s not too heavy either.

Image Quality

Image quality is spot on, with pictures not appearing to show textured noise until around ISO 800. The ISO range is extensive and stretches to 3200 – great for low-light photography – though this setting can only be used on images less than 3.1MB in size.

Verdict

A snazzy bit of kit that slips into the pocket easily and produces pleasing images.
