20x superzoom includes ground-breaking features

Sony has announced the HX1 – a 20x superzoom boasting a 9MP CMOS sensor and an effortless panorama capture function.

The HX1 slots squarely into the superzoom category, as it features an equivalent focal range of 28-560mm and boasts a 1/2.4in Exmor CMOS processor.

The model also boasts full HD 1080p video capture, as well Sony’s proprietary intelligent auto capture – a system which combines intelligent scene recognition, optical steady shot and face detection technologies to help you get the perfect shot with minimal effort.

The real headline grabbing features of the HX1, however, resides in the camera’s image capture functions. The HX1 features a ‘panorama sweep’ mode which allows you to create a 224-degree shot by simple moving the camera on a horizontal or vertical axis.

The HX1 also features a burst rate of 10fps at the full 9MP resolution.

Expect to see the HX1 on shelves towards the end of April, with an RRP of £469.99
