Kingston Technology has introduced a multi-card reader compatible with 15 types of flash memory card.
Kingston claims that the device is particularly suitable for use with faster cards; the USB 2.0 card reader can transfer data up to 480MB per second, while standard USB transfer speeds are 12MB a second.
The reader incorporates plug and play operation. Compatible cards include CompactFlash I/II, Secure Digital, Memory Stick and Smart Media.
