The Canon PowerShot G7 X was announced at this year’s Photokina imaging show and it’s the latest advanced compact to feature a larger-than-average sensor.

As a result, the camera promises some truly impressive images, up there with the very best in a camera of this class.

We recently received our review unit of the new model in from Canon and had the chance to take the camera out for a spin and get some early images.

So, ahead of our imminent full review here’s a few early sample images to give a hint as to what the camera is capable of.
