A definition of SteadyShot

An umbrella term for Sony’s image-stabilisation technologies, included in its stills and video cameras. Optical SteadyShot, incorporated into Sony’s Cyber-shot compact series, uses moving elements inside a lens to steady the image, while SteadyShot INSIDE, found in the company’s Alpha range of DSLR and SLT models, uses a moving sensor to achieve the same goal. An older Super Steady Shot system was previously employed across both compact and DSLR lines.
