Wedding photography is big business, and those who are good at it can make a decent living. It's not easy, though. It requires lots of preparation and a thorough knowledge of your subjects, and your equipment. If you're an avid snapper, however, the chances are someone has at least asked you to take their wedding pictures.
Our first advice would be - no matter how tempting this may be - say no. The pressures of the event could ruin your day, and any mistakes could ruin theirs, and potentially your friendship. Our advice would be to offer to take along a camera but not replace the professional. This guide isn't designed to put you off but to give you a full insight into just how much is involved in successful wedding photography, with practical advice from professionals along the way.
