Guardian Photographers Wanted

Prizes:

Two-day masterclass with professional photographer Alf Khumalo in Johannesburg, followed by an all-expenses paid trip around South Africa as the official photographer on an all-action adventure tour.

The best of the images taken in South Africa will be displayed in the National Geographic Store on Regent Street, London, in October.

Three category winners (Action, Landscape and People) will each receive a book of Alf Khumalo's photography. One of the three will be chosen as the overall winner.

Capture Bristol Travel Photography Competition

Prizes:

Image will be featured in the next edition of the Lonely Planet guide to Devon, Cornwall & Southwest England

The successful photographer will also win a copy of their new pictorial The Travel Book

Five runners-up will win copies of Lonely Planet's Guide to Travel Photography.

MUMM Explorer Experience

CIWEM's Environmental Photographer of the Year 2010

Entry start date: Started
End date: 31st July 2010

Prizes:

Environmental Photographer of the Year accolade

A share of the £3,500 prize fund

Media coverage in international print and online publications

Winning work take part in a roving exhibition throughout the year

20 limited edition prints of each of the winning and runner up images will be sold. Photographers will be asked their permission for their prints to be sold, entering a contract to receive 50% of sales revenues.

Plantlife Photo Competiton 2010

Entry start date: Started
End date: 6th August 2010

Prizes:

Twelve winning images will again be selected to represent a different month in the 2011 Plantlife calendar

One will be declared ‘best-in-show' and the photographer will receive a free 20 x 16 inch Lambda print of their winning photo, donated by Salisbury Photo Centre.

Cathedral2Cathedral Photo Competiton 2010

Prizes:

Bed and Breakfast stays at the Hope Street Hote, theatre tickets and meals, vouchers for photographic equipment and a masterclass with award-winning photographer Martin Birchall.

All entries will be shown in an exhibition and shortlisted entries will be shown at many locations

Dog Photographer of the Year 2010

Entry start date: Started
End date: 31st August 2010

Prizes:

The winning photograph will be put on display at London's Leading Canine Event, Discover Dogs in November 2010 at Earls Court.

The winning image will also be reproduced on the front cover of the special Photography Competition edition of the Kennel Club's flagship publication, The Kennel Gazette and the winner from each category will be presented with a framed print of their photograph.

The winner of the 16 and Under category along with their parent(s)/guardian will win a day out with the professional dog photographer Marc Henrie, a one year membership of the Young Kennel Club and a digital camera in addition to the framed print.

2010 BBC Countryfile Competition

Prize:

£1,000 worth of photography vouchers from an outlet selected by the winner. The entry selected as the overall favourite by the judges will also receive £500 worth of photography vouchers from an outlet selected by the entrant.

The finalists, together with a further fourteen photographs to be selected from the entrants by the judges and/or the BBC, will appear in the Countryfile Calendar 2011, to be sold in aid of the BBC Children in Need Appeal. The finalists may also be published in the BBC Countryfile Magazine.
All 12 shortlisted entries will be featured on the Countryfile programme on BBC One

Britpart 2011 Land Rover Competiton

2010 International Year of Biodiversity Photography Competition

5-11 category:
A bird watching trip on the River Exe with the local ranger, for the winner and their family.

12-18 category:
A private tour of a closed Devon Wildlife Trust reserve accompanied by the Warden, for the winner and their family.

Battle of Britain 70th Anniversary Photo Competiton

Prizes:

The Best Children's Photograph and the Best Adult Photograph will be shown at the Royal Air Force Museum as part of its annual Royal Air Force Photo Exhibition in London, with each winner presented with a plaque and a selection of Prizes at the exhibition's opening ceremony in January 2011.

The winner of the Children's category will be awarded £200 worth of prizes of their choice from the Museum's shop whilst the winner of the Adult Category will receive a Blackberry Storm donated to the Museum by Vodafone UK.

Genius Loci, the international Photographic Prize

Prizes:

Genius Loci is a new international Photographic Prize aimed at promoting emerging photographers of all nationalities based in Italy and the United Kingdom. There are no fees to enter the Genius Loci competition and the winner will be awarded a cheque for £1,000. A jury will select the photographers who best interpret and explore the concept of Spirit of Place and Cultural Diversity.

Urban Photographer of the Year 2010

Prizes:

There is a prize for the best photograph representing each hour of the day in towns and cities, as well as overall grand prizes to be won and one winner to be crowned Urban Photographer of the Year 2010, who will win a safari for two to Turkey. This year, there will also be a number of additional country-level sub-competitions and prizes.

The idea is to capture the essence of urban life with the brief asking photographers to explore working life in towns and cities at any time during a 24-hour day.

Sony World Photography Awards Open Photographer of The Year

Prizes:

Winner of the Best overall photograph will receive:

Recipient of the title "Sony World Photography Awards Open Photographer of The Year"

Winning image will be exhibited on the Sony World Photography Awards' website and promoted to creatives worldwide
