Bokeh

A definition of Bokeh

Bokeh, which from the Japanese word ‘boke' translates as fuzzy or blurred, refers to out-of-focus points of light in an image that form as small circles. How this appears depends on the camera and lens you are using, as well as the aperture and distance from the subject. Manufacturers often incorporate diaphragms with rounded blades in their lenses in order to create rounded bokeh.
