A good battery charger is an essential part of any modern photography kit, especially for those with flashguns. A good charger should be small, fast and reliable, and though you may not have given it much thought, choosing the right one isn’t always easy.

Camlink’s latest charger is a small and compact device with a couple of handy features up its sleeve. It comes with three charging adaptors to suit your location: a mains supply, a 12V car adaptor, and a USB input; so you can easily charge at home or on the move.

Though both mains and 12V car adaptors are fairly common, the ability to charge through USB is pretty unique and means you can charge your batteries directly from your laptop when there’s no other power source around.

Verdict

The Zeta performs very well overall. However, charging times are not blistering, with four batteries taking between 100 and 205mins from the mains, and at least five hours from the USB - which is more than most laptop batteries would last. The unit comes standalone for £20 or with 2100, 2500, or 2700mAH batteries included.
